Mesoporous insulation material construction technology

Mesoporous insulation material construction technology

1. Cutting preparation

Mesoporous insulation membranes need to be cut before construction. The cutting length can be measured with a tape measure or iron wire, and an axial overlap size of 30~50mm should be reserved. Cut length = pipe circumference + lap size. Each layer of construction needs to be re-measured and cut, and construction is not allowed at will.

2. Laying requirements

When laying each section of mesoporous insulation membrane, the horizontal axial seam position shall not be arranged within 90° to the left, right and above the vertical centerline of the pipe, and the axial seam shall be located within 90° from the lower side of the pipe. The insulation material at the axial joint overlap should be laid from top to bottom, and the entire circle of mesoporous insulation material should be pressed with a certain force to make it close to the outer wall of the pipe to avoid creating gaps as much as possible. The overlap joints need to be compacted tightly, and the axial overlap position and direction of each section of material on the same layer should be consistent.

3. Fixing and bundling

First, the starting end of each section of mesoporous thermal insulation material is fixed with galvanized iron wire (Φ0.5mm or Φ1mm) or steel strapping. There must be no looseness, and then the other end is fixed to the pipe in the same way. The circumferential joints of each section of insulation material should be neat and should not be tilted. Then, reinforcement and bundling are carried out in the middle of each section of material, usually with a spacing of 20~30mm. The entire section of insulation material should be bundled with no less than 4 layers. The bulging or loose parts should be strengthened and bundled, and the binding point should be at the axial overlap.

4. Circumferential seam treatment

The circumferential joints do not need to be overlapped, but when laying mesoporous thermal insulation materials during the construction process, the circumferential joints need to be squeezed to ensure that no gaps are created here.

5. Glass cloth winding

After the construction of each layer of mesoporous thermal insulation material is completed, glass fiber cloth can be used to fix the material on the pipe through spiral winding. The winding direction should be consistent with the overlapping direction of the insulation material, the winding should be smooth, and the overlapping size of the glass fiber cloth should be about 1/2 of its width. It is recommended to use glass fiber cloth with a width of 50cm.

6. Multi-layer construction specifications

For the construction of double-layer or multi-layer mesoporous thermal insulation materials, they should be bundled layer by layer, and the inner and outer layers should be staggered. The distance between the axial seams of two adjacent layers shall not be less than 200mm.

7. Description of special working conditions

  • Composite insulation structure:The construction method of the outer layer of traditional insulation materials can refer to the above specifications, using the same layer of extrusion joints and staggered joints of the inner and outer layers.
  • Aluminum foil fiberglass cloth reflective layer:When the design requires the reflective layer to be covered with aluminum foil fiberglass cloth, every two layers of mesoporous thermal insulation material can be covered with one layer of aluminum foil fiberglass cloth, or it can be covered in a specified number of layers according to the design requirements. At this time, the winding of glass fiber cloth can be canceled and replaced by the winding of aluminum foil fiberglass cloth. The winding method is similar to the winding of glass fiber cloth. The reflective surface (bright side) of the aluminum foil fiberglass cloth must face inward.
